La Granja Menu

Went to La Granja for the first time tonight. I ordered the fish filet meal. It was soooo tasty. The fish is a thick slice of lightly fried, well-seasoned grouper. The onions and tomatoes are fresh; they taste like I sauteed them at home. The rice is perfectly salted. The fried plantains are ripe and sweet. I have enough food for lunch tomorrow. My only complaints are that the beans were kind of mediocre and the wait time for the food was slightly long. Overall, the food here is GREAT and this place is definitely going to become a staple restaurant for me. I could see this place giving Pollo Tropical a run for its $.

The food is normally good but the service always sucks. Today I waited almost 20mins to place order then another 20mins for food to get to table then a good 15mins to pay bill? Last time I step foot in this sh!t hole! Smh

So good food but, man, the service sucks!! Every time I go, the waiting staff seem to forget me. :( I love the place but they gotta get their service act together, pronto!

If you are looking for a cheap lunch deal, this is your place... $3.95 for a quarter chicken with rice and beans. The day I went, they gave me white meat without my asking... usually places charge more for that, but maybe they were running low on dark meat? I wonder if they would have charged me extra if I had asked. The take out ordering was really slow... just one guy taking orders, and he seemed more interested in chatting with the woman ahead of me than taking my order. I would think during the lunch rush they would actually RUSH a little bit, but not here. I lucked out, because the line backed up halfway into the restaurant after I ordered. This place is just OK, and definitely a bargain for lunch.

I don't know what the big deal is about this place. It's just chicken, rice and beans. Well I mean they have other stuff too, but... I doubt I'll try it anytime soon. Nothing exciting here...

I couldn't make it to my usual location. But the food was good as always. It was nice and clean. Service was quick as they were not too busy and the waitress was friendly and helpful. I will probably be back.

The food is pretty good, tasty and fresh. Try their amazing sauces too and plenty to choose from. You have got to try their corn bread souffle'!

A humble place to have a good meal. A group of 5 to have lunch, after deciding what to have son order 1/4 Chicken with Rice & Black Beans, the 2 grandson's had Lomo Saltado, Wife had Pork Ribs with Tostones Garlic Potatoes & I had Garlic Fish with Garlic Potatoes & Rice. Granddaughter ate all the Lomo Saltado, Grandson left some (have a bad cold), son liked the Chicken, Wife enjoy the Pork Ribs & I enjoy the Garlic Fish to the Max. This is the first time that I ate in LA Granja & Glad I did...

I love the granja on flamingo so when I came to the one pines I thought is would be just as good. Boy was I wrong. I ordered seafood soup for my son. When it came out it already looked funny. And the taste: tasted like they used the dish water(after washing filthy dishes all day) to make the soup. Told the waitress about it and she was rude. Stood there and was like "another table loved it". Then my lomo saltado came out. Another disappointment. I starved myself all day to eat dinner with my family before I head back home. Wish I could vomit up the little I ate. I think I will have the shits later... My stomach is hurting as I write this..... Oh the pain....

Gotta say that the food was pretty good! The server was okay. Not a big deal, but a server has got to TRY and at least smile. Some people just don't realize that a smile goes a long way. The server was "bland." So, that took away a star. Not to mention that at times it was a little difficult to get his attention.

The food is decent, but what really puts you off is the horribly consistent slow service. I don't normally complain about service because I understand the work a waiter/waitress needs to do, but you can literally see them talking and laughing by the cash register while you're still waiting on your drink to come. Also, the chicken is hit or miss. Sometimes it's juicy, but for the most part it's generally dry. You're much better off walking inside and ordering at the front for take out. You receive your food a lot sooner and can go about your way. I stopped coming here after La Brasa opened up at the next plaza.

Have been there a total of four (4) times and today will be my last visit to La Granja The first two times I had a flawless and enjoyable time at La Granja. Last time everything went smooth until it was time to pay. I had to wait fifteen (15) minutes for a waitress/waiter to come and take my payment. Despite the several direct eye to eye interactions I had with them they still did not come to take my payment until it was convenient for them. Today I went to La Granja with a friend and my friend arrived first. I find my friend sitting down to a nice bowl of seafood soup (my favorite) and some fried yuca. I took a seat and was facing the kitchen and could see all of the waiters on the floor. I patiently waited 10 minutes and again made eye contact with the waitress at least three times. She never came to serve me. The manager was running back and forth and I feel he was too busy to see me there as I couldn't make direct eye contact. Two customers had a seat directly to my right and the waitress came running to serve them. After waiting for 16 minutes I got up and went to ask to speak to a manager. The cashier pointed that he is there as if it is my job to go to the manager. Proper business etiquette dictates that the manager should come tend to the customer, not the other way around. So I explain my situation to the manager (who by the way claims he is the owner) and he tells me he doesn't speak good English and he will go get somebody who can. He brings this woman over and I explain the situation to her and she gives me a blank stare... She did not know a SINGLE word of English! I tell the guy that you know more than she does why did you bring her here? All the manager can do at this point is say he is sorry. I let him know that I am telling him this because if this is how he is treating customers he will lose business. I also told him I was very hungry and now I will go find another place to eat and that this will be my last time here. I hate prejudiced people and I know we all do it to some degree. I also know that living in South Florida there is just as much Spanish as there is English. I also realize it is a private owned business and if they want to cater to Spanish speakers also it is their right. However, it is also my right to express how I feel and what I witnessed today worked unfavorably for me. I might decide to go to another La Granja but definitely not the one on Pines Blvd and University Drive. On the other hand if you are a Spanish speaker I am confident they will beckon to your call and you will have a great time there.

Food is always good. The place is kinda dirty and the service always sucks. Love the onion bar and the sauces. The white sauce is amazing.

I have had two nice experiences here lately both we're in the seated section. Food is always really good here and reasonable. I had the seafood ceviche and my daughter had the chicken. Budweiser is 2.50. Good service and good food. I am a fan

In general, food from La Granja makes my mouth super happy. This location is one of the better ones --- AND it has a drive-thru. Granted the drive-thru line takes forever, but nonetheless you can enjoy the most lovely convenience of being lazy and not have to even get out of your car as you order your Peruvian cuisine. I highly recommend the steak combo with an Inka Kola to drink, and try mixing the red and green sauces together. Yum!
